It’s Pat, from the logo on this website. I believe that the role of advertising is to make brands human. And like humans, sometimes you love them. But sometimes you can’t stand them. And that’s OK because there isn’t a brand in the history of brands that’s made for everyone. Ya know, like humans. So it’s my job to make the right humans love your brand. And if the wrong humans can’t stand it, well then, at least they noticed your brand. Because being ignored is the worst thing a brand, or a human, can be.
THINGS I BELIEVE TO BE TRUE:
You have to entertain people first.
Brands should be making more than thinking.
Great producers are heroes.
It’s good to know a little bit about a lot of things.
Tension is good.
Funny is the answer 87.8% of the time.
Big ideas are the only thing that moves the needle.
Brands have to tell the truth.
Great advertising is a combo of head & heart.
